TELFORD, PA - Congressman Fitzpatrick (PA-8) announced Wednesday his effort to visit 50 businesses in 50 days in Montgomery County during the August work period. Fitzpatrick made this announcement at the Indian Valley Country Club where he was the keynote speaker at a gathering of the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“Last summer I made a point to visit 100 businesses in 100 days across the district and talk face-to-face with small business owners and their employees.  This summer I’m doing it again- this time with 50 of those businesses right here in Montgomery County,” said Fitzpatrick, “As the President’s healthcare law is implemented, I wanted to spend time this summer connecting with businesses to learn how they intend to grapple with the new law.”

Fitzpatrick has been active in the district since leaving Washington on August 2; holding three town hall meetings, visiting a number of local businesses, and hosting a pair of round table discussions- including in the Indian Valley area.

“There’s no better way to see where the rubber meets the road  than to talk to our neighbors where they work and to hear from employers, first hand, the challenges they face," added Fitzpatrick.

At the event Fitzpatrick spoke about the importance of working across party lines to find ways to make government more efficient and effective- highlighting his association with the group ‘No Labels’ and a number of bipartisan bills he has recently introduced.

Following a presentation, Fitzpatrick fielded questions from IVCC members on topics ranging from the repealing of the Affordable Care Act to the current status of the banking industry under Dodd-Frank regulations.
