Fitzpatrick: Bucks County Takes Care of Its Own
LANGHORNE, PA - Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) released the following statement Monday regarding the Friday, July 26th fire at the Racquet Club Apartments in Middletown, Bucks County that left 100 residents displaced:
“Bucks County takes care of its own.
That’s something I’ve known my whole life- from growing up here, to serving as a county commissioner, to now representing my neighbors in Congress. That’s why when I heard about the devastating fire in Middletown this weekend, and the quick response of residents county-wide, I was touched- but not surprised- by their thoughtful actions.
From the fire fighters and first responders who battled the four-alarm flames, to the young boys who reportedly saw the fire and rushed to action to alert residents to get out - tragic events like this often bring out the best in our community and our neighbors.
Today’s donation collection event at Walter Miller Elementary School in Levittown was a tangible display of the charity and goodwill of the people of Bucks County, helping in any way they can.
I’m thankful for State Representative Frank Farry for organizing the event and allowing my office to help victims of the blaze to replace lost or destroyed federal documents. I’d also like to personally thank everyone who chipped in- no matter how small; their actions show why I represent the greatest district in our country.”
Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He represents Pennsylvania’s 8th district which includes all of Bucks County as well as a portion of Montgomery County. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
