Fitzpatrick Comments on President’s Syria Address

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) released the following statement Tuesday night following President Obama’s national address regarding the situation in Syria:

“It is in our nation's interest, and the world's interest, to resolve this crisis diplomatically.  Over the past week the President has arrived there, and that is a good thing.
As diplomatic channels are pursued, efforts for humanitarian aid must be addressed in the near term.
With the President continuing to keep our soldiers at the ready for a military strike, I implore him to set a clear course which does not draw us deeper into a conflict that is not supported by the American people.”

Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He represents Pennsylvania’s 8th district which includes all of Bucks County as well as a portion of Montgomery County. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
