Fitzpatrick Holds Veterans Meeting in Montgomery Co.
HATFIELD, PA – Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) held a veterans meeting Tuesday at the American Legion post in Hatfield, where he fielded questions on veterans’ issues and concerns about national policies.
“Our nation’s veterans often have a unique vantage point through which they see the issues facing our nation,” said Fitzpatrick. “Being able to tap into their thoughts and hear their concerns first hand is important to me as a representative in the nation’s capital.”
Fitzpatrick has been a champion of veterans and military issues during the 113th Congress- fighting to restore military tuition assistance, voting in support of bills to strengthen employment opportunities for veterans, and shining a light on the ineptitude and inefficiency of the VA Department.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to our fighting men and women of any age- each has taken up the mantel of protecting freedom and liberty, at home and abroad, and for this we are thankful,” added Fitzpatrick. “It is an honor to represent veterans, and all my neighbors here in Montgomery County and around the district, and do my best to make government work for them.”
Fitzpatrick has been active in Montgomery County, and throughout the district, during the August Work Period. Since leaving Washington, D.C. he has held three in person town halls- in Springtown, Bristol, and Harleysville- as well as speaking to a number of chambers of commerce and community groups. Last week he announced he would be visiting 50 businesses in 50 days across the Montgomery County portion of the district.
Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He represents Pennsylvania’s 8th district which includes all of Bucks County as well as a portion of Montgomery County. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
