Feasterville Business Association host Congressman for discussion, Q&A

Fitzpatrick Meets with Lower Bucks Business Group

TREVOSE, PA – Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) met with local business and community leaders Wednesday night where discussed the current state of the nation and bipartisan efforts to reform the government and grow a business-friendly economy.

“As business leaders, you understand how things get done in the real world – people have to work together to achieve a goal. That should be how Washington works, but right now it’s not,” said Fitzpatrick speaking at the Feasterville Business Association. “We, as leaders, need to work toward common goals on things we can all agree on – the biggest being strengthening our economy and growing American jobs.”

Fitzpatrick focused his remarks on the need to support an environment which empowers small business – including efforts to restore confidence in government fiscal policy – as well as removing roadblocks to innovation and increased hiring.

Earlier in the day Fitzpatrick had struck a similar tone when he spoke to high school students in both Quakertown and Souderton about the state of the economy and the path forward – specifically highlighting the need for increased STEM education and rejuvenation of American manufacturing in their generation.

“America is positioned for a resurgence of American manufacturing in high tech industries. Access to quality, affordable education is essential as jobs in science, math, engineering and technology are open, growing and good paying,” added Fitzpatrick. “Common sense legislation, like my Made in America Act, offers a way to promote American goods right here at home and across the world.”

In Congress Fitzpatrick has worked consistently to roll back burdensome regulations on small businesses, including support of the House ‘Stop Government Abuse’ legislative package earlier this year. Furthermore, he has been a champion of American energy independence – a goal which has the potential to create millions of jobs as well as increase business certainty.

This summer Fitzpatrick visited nearly 100 businesses across the district to connect with small business owners, operators and employees as well as meeting with a number of Chambers of Commerce and business organizations.

Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He represents Pennsylvania’s 8th district which includes all of Bucks County as well as a portion of Montgomery County. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
