Fitzpatrick Statement on January Unemployment Report

Feb 1, 2013 Issues: Economy and Jobs

LANGHORNE, Pa - Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-08) expressed his disappointment in the latest unemployment report in a statement released this afternoon.
"Yesterday, President Obama dismissed his Jobs Council, whose mission was to provide the President with recommendations and guidance on the best way to grow our economy and put more Americans back to work.  This decision came the same week that it was announced that the economy had its worst quarter since 2009, and just before today's news the unemployment rate ticked back up to nearly 8%."
"I remain hopeful that the President and Senate will join the House in pursuing a pro-growth agenda which will create opportunities for the millions of hard-working Americans who are waiting to see a real and lasting economic recovery."
