Fitzpatrick Talks Energy with MontCo Business Leaders
LANGHORNE, PA – Today at the Hatfield Chamber of Commerce, Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) again spoke about the importance of energy independence and its relation to the nation’s economy to a local business group.
“I believe that as a nation we could be energy independent in about a decade.” Said Fitzpatrick. “We can reach that goal with a diverse energy portfolio that includes a combination of oil, clean coal, nuclear power, sustainable alternatives, as well as taking advantage of Pennsylvania’s abundant natural gas.”
Government studies have shown that simply increasingly the production of natural gas could cut oil prices, increase U.S. economic activity by two percent and add three million jobs by 2030.
Fitzpatrick continues to speak about the importance of energy independence to business groups and chambers around the district.
Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He represents Pennsylvania’s 8th district which includes all of Bucks County as well as a portion of Montgomery County. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
