Fitzpatrick Visits "100 Businesses in 100 Days"

Aug 10, 2012 Issues: Economy and Jobs

CHALFONT, PA –  Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-08) delivered on his pledge to visit 100 Businesses in 100 Days Wednesday afternoon after conducting a  Town Hall Meeting  with employees of Byers' Choice in Chalfont, PA.

"It has been a true privilege to visit local businesses and meet their employees to get a first-hand account of the state of our local economy for the past 100 days.  I cannot thank them enough for providing me with the critical insight we need to put our economy back on the right track for a lasting recovery," said Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick continued, pointing out that "while the specific concerns may have varied from business to business, a clear and consistent message has emerged: our economy is struggling under the weight of a complicated tax code, ineffective and onerous regulations, and rising healthcare costs during what has proven to be a Summer of Uncertainty."

"This fall, I intend to share the insights I gained with those willing to listen to find solutions in the House of Representatives.  Furthermore, I look forward to sharing these insights with our community," continued Fitzpatrick.

Concluding, Fitzpatrick noted that local businesses continue to reach out to his office asking for the Congressman to meet and discuss issues of concern.

"I have continued to schedule visits with local businesses.  I have no doubt that our job creators will rise to the challenge of putting our economy back on the right track.  However, it is essential that we give them the tools they need to succeed and get government out of the way."
