Fitzpatrick Welcomes Central Bucks Students to Nation’s Capital
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) welcomed students from the Tohickon Middle School 9th Grade Class for a visit to our Nation’s Capital. Over 400 students aged 14 – 15 years old travelled to Washington, DC today as part of their annual class trip.
“Based on my experience with Tohickon Middle School’s 9th Grade class today,” said Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick, “I am proud to say that our future is bright!”
“It was a pleasure to travel with the students from the Central Bucks School District and welcome them to the House of Representatives,” said Fitzpatrick, “The students were incredibly curious and we had a great discussion about how laws are made.”
“I particularly enjoyed hosting a Q&A session with the students on the House Floor,” said Fitzpatrick, “Sharing the story of our democracy with tomorrow’s leaders and showing them avenues to get involved is one of the best parts of being a public official.”
“The students and staff of Tohickon Middle School are extremely grateful and honored to Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick and his staff for an incredible experience,” said 9th Grade American Government Teacher David Lloyd, “The students left feeling connected to their government. Overall this experience highlighted their trip to the Nation's Capital.”
Before leaving the Capitol, the students posed for a group picture on the Capitol steps. Following their Capitol visit, the students explored the National Mall’s historical sites and museums.
