WEST ROCKHILL — When West Rockhill created its Veterans Memorial in 2005, it included five bronze plaques with the names of 391 persons.

This year, a sixth plaque, this one with 74 more names, was installed.

The West Rockhill Township Park & Recreation Committee is holding a Veterans Memorial Plaque Dedication 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at the memorial in James Memorial Park on Ridge Road.

U. S. Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, R-1; state Rep. Craig Staats, R-145; the North Pennsmen; Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops; and American Legion Post 280 will take part in the program.

"We'd especially love to see any of the Veterans being honored, and their families, both from the initial 2005 plaques and the newly added Veterans being recognized November 8th. If you're a Veteran, we encourage you to come in uniform (or at least your headgear)," a West Rockhill release said.

The release also notes the following for those planning on attending:

• Masks are mandatory

• Social distancing should be observed at all times

• Attendance may be limited per current state guidelines

• Limited seating will be provided

• This is a rain or shine event

If you plan to attend, please RSVP the township at 215-257-9063 or email manager@westrockhilltownship.org. Please provide the number of persons attending and indicate if you are a veteran.
