Fitzpatrick, Sinema Introduce ‘Made in America Act’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) introduced legislation this week that would support American manufacturing and incentivize businesses to increase domestic production. The Made in America Act of 2017 [H.R. 3850] creates a voluntary, standardized labeling program that would allow consumers to easily identify the extent to which products are American-made.

Fitzpatrick introduces apprenticeship bill

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-8, Middletown, joined a bipartisan group of federal legislators to introduce a bill designed to enhance training and education opportunities through apprenticeships.

According to a release from Fitzpatrick's office, the Apprenticeship and Jobs Training Act of 2017 will create a $5,000 tax credit based upon wages paid by companies that hire individuals enrolled in a federal or state registered apprenticeship program.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Linda Sánchez (CA-38), Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, along with Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-08), Derek Kilmer (WA-06), Frank LoBiondo (NJ-02), and Mike Thompson (CA-05) today introduced the bipartisan Apprenticeship and Jobs Training Act of 2017 to enhance training and education opportunities for American workers through registered apprenticeships. Apprenticeship programs have been an integral part of America’s workforce development, allowing workers to increase their skills while also earning a paycheck.
