WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) issued the following statement after the House voted to expel Congressman George Santos (NY-03):

“Today, I voted to expel Rep. Santos from Congress. As stated in the final report from the House Ethics Committee, ‘Rep. Santos sought to fraudulently exploit every aspect of his House candidacy for his own personal financial profit.’ He intentionally misled his constituents, his supporters, and the American public,” said Congressman Fitzpatrick. “This egregious behavior must never be tolerated, and I am relieved that Rep. Santos is no longer a member of the United States Congress. We must set a high bar, and maintain that high bar, for all those who hold a position of public trust.”
