Fitzpatrick Makes Bipartisan Wager on Super Bowl

Fitzpatrick confident in an Eagles championship

LANGHORNE, PA – Eagles fan Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Patriots fan Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-RI) are making this year’s Super Bowl a little more interesting by placing a friendly wager on the outcome. Following the outcome of Super Bowl LII, the loser will have to pose for a social media photo while wearing the winning team’s jersey.

“Philadelphia is a city of underdogs; our Eagles are exactly where we want them to be going into the big game,” said Fitzpatrick. “We’ve overcome injuries and adversity every step of the way, now the only thing standing between the Birds and our first Super Bowl victory are those New England Patriots. I’m confident that come Sunday night we’ll see Philly finally raising the Lombardi Trophy. I hope Rep. Cicilline likes midnight green.”

“New Englanders are blessed to be living through an unprecedented era of dominance by our pro sports teams. No team has given us more years of joy over the past two decades than the New England Patriots,” said Cicilline. “This Sunday, I’m looking forward to seeing Tom Brady and Bill Belichick add yet another credential to their resumes for Canton.”

When the Eagles capture their first Super Bowl victory, Fitzpatrick will present Cicilline with an Eagles jersey to wear on Capitol Hill. If the Patriots (somehow) win, Fitzpatrick will be obligated to don a Rob Gronkowksi jersey.
