WASHINGTON, D.C. – During last week’s National Veterans Small Business Week, U.S. Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) joined with Representatives Jason Crow (CO-06), Brad Schneider (IL-10), and Young Kim (CA-39) to celebrate the achievements of our veteran entrepreneurs by introducing a bipartisan resolution supporting National Veterans Small Business Week. Veteran entrepreneurs generate approximately $1 trillion in annual revenue and employ nearly four million workers in the United States.
“Veterans are one of the most highly skilled workforces in America’s history – the product of rigorous training, an ironclad commitment to teamwork, and the remarkable ability to succeed where others might fail. I am proud to join my bipartisan colleagues to recognize the tremendous contributions and accomplishments of veteran-owned small businesses throughout the country,” said Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.
“Our service members have our backs; it’s our responsibility to have their backs, too. That means ensuring veterans have the tools and resources they need to build and run a small business. I’m proud to join in recognizing our veteran small business community this National Veterans Small Business Week as we continue investing in the strength and resiliency of American veterans,” said Congressman Jason Crow.
“Just as our nation’s security rests on the shoulders of those in our armed services, our nation’s economic growth relies on small business and American entrepreneurship. As we continue to beat back the pandemic, America is counting on our veteran small business owners and their ingenuity and entrepreneurship to get America back to work,” said Congressman Brad Schneider.
“More than 2.5 million successful veteran entrepreneurs, after dedicated service in our nation’s uniform, continue to give back to our communities and employ roughly 5 million Americans. These men and women are heroes who not only helped protect America’s freedoms but also directly support our local economy,” said Congresswoman Young Kim. “As our small business owners continue to adapt during the COVID-19 pandemic, we must ensure Congress shows unwavering bipartisan commitment to support them. I am glad to join with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to honor the incredible contributions of veteran small business owners and reaffirm our commitment to supporting them in Congress. As Ranking Member of the House Small Business Subcommittee on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Workforce Development, I will keep working on light-touch, pro-growth policies to help our veteran entrepreneurs innovate and thrive.”
