WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment, & Cyber, and Congressman Gerald E. Connolly (D-VA), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations, introduced a resolution to dedicate May 2nd through 8th, 2021 as Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW).

“Committed public servants at the federal, state, and local levels, and servicemembers across the world, carry out the complex and vital business of operating and protecting our nation every day. Over the past year, these men and women have provided critical services and assistance to our constituents during an unprecedented global health pandemic,” said Fitzpatrick and Connolly.

“We relied on them to distribute necessary economic aid to businesses and individuals struggling under the strain of that crisis.  Others, despite great risk to their own lives, courageously continued to serve as first-responders, provide healthcare to veterans, deliver mail, inspect meat and poultry facilities, provide sanitation services, research cures for COVID-19, and deliver vaccines.  These hardworking heroes live and serve in every community across America, and they deserve our gratitude for their service and sacrifice,” Fitzpatrick and Connolly added.
