PHILADELPHIA, PA – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-08) visited U.S. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay where he discussed national security issues as well as regional concerns regarding drugs and narcotics smuggling. The Port of Philadelphia is the fifth largest port in the United States and the top port for coca leaf shipments which sometimes include narcotics. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay covers two-thirds of Pennsylvania (including PA-08 and the Port of Philadelphia), two-thirds of New Jersey, all of Delaware and 200 nautical miles east of the regional coastline and is served by 750 active and reserve members.
