Washington, DC – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) released the following statement following passage of H.Res. 41, which rejects white nationalism and white supremacy:

“This afternoon, I joined the overwhelming majority of my House colleagues in support of a resolution rejecting white nationalism and white supremacy. While it is sorely disappointing that such a declaration is even necessary in this body, today’s vote was a strong and unequivocal rebuke to hateful and evil ideologies.”

“As we commemorate the 90th birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we recognize his leadership and accomplishments, and honor his legacy as we continue to strive for equality for all Americans.”

“Congressman Steve King’s rhetoric is divisive and unbecoming to our shared American principles. Today’s vote upholds the decency of this body.”
