WASHINGTON, D.C.Today, the Co-Chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Ukraine Caucus – Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Mike Quigley (D-IL), and Andy Harris (R-MD) – released the following statement on the United States’ commitment of an additional $800 million in military aid and $500 million in government operations aid for Ukraine:

“The mission to protect Ukraine and ensure its survival must not be borne by Ukraine alone. In his quest to reconstruct the former Soviet Union, Putin may not stop at Ukraine’s borders. The United States’ commitment of an additional $1.3 billion military and operations aid will fortify Ukraine’s defenses and help ensure the continuation of essential services. The Ukrainian people have demonstrated extraordinary courage and resolve in the face of true evil. But they need the global community to step up. Until Putin ends his senseless, bloody, and unprovoked war, it is the responsibility of every nation to deliver Ukraine the support it needs for the fight. As Congress begins considering a new supplemental appropriations package, the Congressional Ukraine Caucus will work to maximize its effectiveness in meeting Ukraine’s long-term needs.”
