Langhorne, PA – Today, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1), announced that he has a secured $1,000,000 Community Project Funding (CPF) grant for the critical expansion of the Heart and Vascular suite at Doylestown Hospital.

The CPF was introduced by Fitzpatrick into the FY2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act as a part of the Community Project Funding program—an initiative allows Members of Congress to target federal funds towards projects and programs within their congressional districts that will address the most significant needs facing the communities they represent.

Through the Community Project Funding Request process for the 118th Congress, which was included in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, Fitzpatrick successfully secured more than $27.5 million in funding for 14 transformative community projects that will directly benefit First District constituents. Additionally, Fitzpatrick secured over $19 million in CPF Funding for 13 projects FY23 and over $6.6 million in CPF funding for 10 projects in FY22.

Through this funding, Doylestown Health will be able to expand their efforts as leaders in the fight against heart disease—the leading cause of death in the United States. This funding allows them to build on the success of their initial state-of-the-art hybrid operating lab by constructing a secondary facility, thereby vastly increasing their capacity to meet growing patient needs with the most advanced medical innovations. The funds will also facilitate a comprehensive overhaul of their oldest catheterization lab, equipping it with the latest cutting-edge technology and top-tier equipment, ensuring the delivery of unparalleled, life-saving care.

"We are so grateful for the Congressman’s continuing support and partnership, and his focus on the health and wellbeing of Bucks County residents. Heart disease continues to be an urgent health issue in Bucks County and a leading cause of death in U.S.," said Jim Brexler, President and CEO, Doylestown Health. "This HRSA grant completes the funding for Doylestown Hospital’s second universal hybrid operating room. This addition to the Gorsky Heart and Vascular Suite will offer flexibility and advanced imaging technology, enabling Doylestown Health’s expert cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, nurses and clinical teams to perform a wide range of advanced procedures for a growing volume of patients."

“Securing this $1 million for Doylestown Health is a win for the health and well-being of our entire community. By expanding their state-of-the-art facilities and incorporating the latest technology, this funding will dramatically elevate patient care in our community. With reduced wait times and access to the most innovative treatments, more patients will benefit from timely, advanced cardiac procedures,” said Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1). “My sincere thanks to Jim Brexler for his outstanding leadership and the entire Doylestown Health team—doctors, nurses, administrators, and all staff—for their tireless work, unwavering dedication to our community, and commitment to high-quality, compassionate care. I look forward to continuing our work together in the shared mission of ensuring our community has access to the highest level of support, care, and medical services.”
