Langhorne, PA – Today, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) announced a major victory for Perkasie Borough, securing $2,058,180 in Community Project Funding (CPF) to address critical infrastructure needs. This federal investment, part of the FY24 Consolidated Appropriations Act, was championed by Fitzpatrick as part of a broader effort to direct federal resources to key projects and programs that directly benefit Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District.

Through the Community Project Funding Request process for the 118th Congress, which was included in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, Fitzpatrick successfully secured more than $27.5 million in funding for 14 transformative community projects that will directly benefit First District constituents. Additionally, Fitzpatrick secured over $19 million in CPF Funding for 13 projects FY23 and over $6.6 million in CPF funding for 10 projects in FY22.

Fitzpatrick’s leadership in securing this funding will provide essential support to Perkasie Borough’s Park Avenue Stormwater and Pedestrian Improvements Project. This initiative will significantly improve safety, manage stormwater, and expand pedestrian accessibility along Park Avenue, making the area more resilient to future challenges. The project will also extend the Liberty Bell Trail, strengthening connections between neighborhoods and Perkasie’s bustling downtown, while transforming the outdated stormwater basin into a modern underground system that protects against erosion, flooding, and road degradation.

“We are incredibly grateful for this federal grant, which will enable us to make critical stormwater and pedestrian improvements to West Park Avenue. The addition of sidewalks along this key corridor will provide a safer, more accessible connection for residents to Perkasie’s downtown, supporting both our community’s quality of life and our local economy. This project also fills an essential gap in the Liberty Bell Trail, further enhancing the regional trail network. We want to extend a special thank you to Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, whose nomination and support of our application were instrumental in securing this funding. We are excited to move forward with this important investment in Perkasie’s future.” said Steve Rose, Ward 2 Representative, Perkasie Borough Council.

Congressman Fitzpatrick underscored the significance of the project for Perkasie Borough and the broader community: "Investing in local infrastructure is fundamental to ensuring the safety, growth, and prosperity of our entire community. I have made this a priority since entering Congress, and that’s why I fought to secure over $2 million for Perkasie Borough’s Park Avenue Stormwater and Pedestrian Improvements project. These critical upgrades will solve long-standing challenges, improve stormwater management, and enhance pedestrian safety and access—directly benefiting both residents and local businesses. This project strengthens connections between neighborhoods and Perkasie’s vibrant downtown while making the area more resilient for years to come. I look forward to continuing my work with the Borough’s leadership and delivering results that improve the quality of life for all in PA-1.”
