Through the Community Project Funding Request process for the 118th Congress, which was included in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, Fitzpatrick successfully secured more than $27.5 million in funding for 14 transformative community projects that will directly benefit First District constituents. Additionally, Fitzpatrick secured over $19 million in CPF Funding for 13 projects in FY23 and over $6.6 million in CPF funding for 10 projects in FY22.

Key Highlights of the $2.2 Million Secured Through Fitzpatrick’s Leadership:

  • Sound Barrier Construction – $1.7 Million:
This funding will facilitate the construction of a state-of-the-art transparent sound barrier along the busy Amtrak corridor, stretching from Green Lane to Garfield Street. This critical infrastructure investment will significantly mitigate noise pollution, greatly enhancing the quality of life for residents of Bristol Borough. Furthermore, the grant will facilitate essential upgrades to the existing trail along the Trenton Avenue Streetscape, ensuring compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and improving accessibility for all members of the community.
  • Bristol Waterfront Park & Maple Beach Road Improvement Project – $500,000:
This funding supports renovation improvements to the Bristol Waterfront Park, a beloved community space, that has endured considerable wear from frequent use. Upgrading the stormwater management system will protect the park from flooding during high tides and storms, preserving its vitality for residents and visitors alike. Furthermore, this funding will facilitate the reconstruction of the Maple Beach Bridge over Otter Creek, enhancing access to the Marsh and improving connectivity for Wastewater Treatment Plant employees, ultimately strengthening the community's infrastructure.

This funding reflects Fitzpatrick’s ongoing mission to bring tangible results to PA-1, empowering communities with the resources they need to thrive. As Bristol Borough grows and evolves, these investments will strengthen its infrastructure, enhance residents' quality of life, and unlock new opportunities that honor the town’s legacy while building a brighter future.

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick emphasized the importance of Bristol Borough within the district and his ongoing commitment to fostering its growth: "Historic Bristol Borough has long been a cornerstone of our PA-1 community, but its recent resurgence as one of the most dynamic and vibrant areas in the region reflects the heart and resilience of its people. This $2.2 million investment not only enhances the quality of life for residents but also strengthens the borough as a premier destination for visitors. These projects will preserve the borough’s charm while creating new pathways for growth, connection, and opportunity. I look forward to continuing our partnership with local leaders to ensure that Bristol Borough remains a vibrant community for generations to come."

Remarking on the impact of the funding, Bristol Borough Mayor, Ralph DiGuiseppe III, remarked:The Bristol Borough Council, our residents, and I are beyond grateful and appreciative of Congressman Fitzpatrick’s efforts and generosity to our town. He recognized an important quality of life issue that the residents have been dealing with for years, relative to the train noise, and the Congressman has stepped in to resolve the problem. The Congressman has never let the Borough down whenever we needed him.”
