WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) marked his first 100 days of the 119th Congress with a record of decisive action, bipartisan problem-solving, and meaningful results for the people of Pennsylvania’s First District. From passing long-overdue reforms and restoring trust in government, to strengthening America’s role on the global stage and delivering for working families, veterans, and public servants—Fitzpatrick’s efforts underscore what principled, bipartisan, people-first leadership can deliver.

“In these first 100 days, we’ve proven that meaningful progress is still possible when leaders put principle ahead of politics and service above self-interest,” said Fitzpatrick. “We advanced bipartisan reforms to restore trust in our institutions, delivered real solutions for working families, veterans, and public servants, and stood with our allies in defense of freedom and democracy. In a time of division and doubt, we chose unity, accountability, and action—because that’s what this moment demands, and that’s the standard I’ll continue to uphold in the work ahead,” said Fitzpatrick.

Building Trust Through Government Reform

Fitzpatrick began the 119th Congress with a sweeping 1-bill reform package to restore integrity and accountability in Congress. The package includes four constitutional amendments—among them, term limits and a balanced budget requirement—as well as legislation enforcing single-subject bills and ending congressional pay during shutdowns.

He also reintroduced the bipartisan Restoring Faith in Government Act alongside, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cory Mills, and Raja Krishnamoorthi, banning Members of Congress and their spouses from trading individual stocks—an ethics reform supported across the political spectrum.

“Our reforms transcend partisan divides and strike at the core of what our country needs: leaders who are accountable, institutions that are transparent, and a renewed trust in our democracy,” said Fitzpatrick. “This legislation is about restoring the fundamental integrity of our democratic institutions.”

A Historic Win for Public Servants: Social Security Fairness

Fitzpatrick helped lead the bipartisan fight to pass the Social Security Fairness Act (H.R. 82)signed into law in January—ending decades of benefit reductions for public employees.

This landmark legislation:

  • Eliminates the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP)
  • Ends the Government Pension Offset (GPO)
  • Restores full Social Security benefits for teachers, firefighters, police officers, and public employees nationwide

“Our teachers, firefighters, police officers, and public servants dedicated their careers to serving others. After decades of injustice, we have finally restored the benefits these heroes rightfully earned,” said Fitzpatrick. “The people of PA-1 made their voices heard loud and clear—and I was proud to lead this bipartisan fight for fairness and justice.”

Rapid Response for Sunoco Gas Leak

In the wake of the devastating Sunoco pipeline leak in Upper Makefield Township, Fitzpatrick took swift action—meeting with affected families, working with local officials, demanding an immediate shutdown of the impacted pipeline, and pressing state and federal regulators for accountability and full transparency.

“When lives and health are on the line, delay is not an option. My duty is to the people I represent—and I’ll never hesitate to act on their behalf,”  said Fitzpatrick.

Protecting Workers, Defending Rights

Fitzpatrick introduced the bipartisan Protect America’s Workforce Act, reversing a sweeping Executive Order that eliminated collective bargaining rights of federal workers across critical agencies, impacting approximately two-thirds of the federal workforce. His legislation restores fair and balanced protections for federal employees while maintaining vital national security exceptions.

“Fairness, efficiency, and accountability are not competing priorities—they reinforce each other. We can and must protect national security without undermining workplace rights,” said Fitzpatrick.

Standing Up for Families, Seniors, Veterans, and First Responders

In the first 100 days, Fitzpatrick advanced a slate of bipartisan bills focused on everyday challenges faced by families, seniors, veterans, and first responders:

He introduced the SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act, the first major update to the SSI program in over 40 years, eliminating outdated asset limits that punish low-income seniors and individuals with disabilities for saving responsibly.

He also co-led the Hot Foods Act, bipartisan legislation to modernize SNAP by allowing recipients—including seniors, children, and individuals with disabilities—to use their benefits on hot, prepared meals.

“These are common-sense fixes rooted in dignity,” said Fitzpatrick. “No one should be penalized for saving or prevented from buying a hot meal.”

Fitzpatrick also introduced bipartisan bills that tackle everyday challenges for families and public servants:

“These aren’t partisan ideas—they’re practical, people-first policies rooted in dignity and common sense,” said Fitzpatrick.

Leading the Fight Against Cancer and Advancing Medical Innovation

As Co-Chair of the House Cancer Caucus, Fitzpatrick led bipartisan efforts to accelerate cancer research and improve patient care, including:

“This work is personal. It’s about closing care gaps, saving lives, and accelerating breakthroughs for families across America,” Fitzpatrick said.

Global Leadership: Strengthening Alliances, Defending Democracy

As a Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, NATO Parliamentary Assembly Member, and Co-Chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, Fitzpatrick has played a leading role in advancing U.S. national security and standing firm against foreign aggression.

In February, he led a high-level bipartisan congressional delegation to the Munich Security Conference and NATO Headquarters, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO allies to reinforce American leadership and unity in the face of Russian hostility.

He has since introduced:

“Freedom is never self-sustaining—it must be protected and defended. Ukraine’s battle is not just their own—it is a frontline defense for all nations that believe in democracy, security, and the rule of law,” said Fitzpatrick.

Protecting the Environment and Powering Economic Growth

Fitzpatrick continued his national leadership on conservation and energy innovation by:

“Protecting our environment and powering our economy are not competing goals—they are complementary. This work is about smart growth and long-term resilience,” said Fitzpatrick.

Leadership Across the Aisle, Across the Board

In the 119th Congress, Fitzpatrick sits on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), where is serves as Chairman of the CIA Subcommittee, and the Ways and Means Committee, where he serves as Chairman of the Working Families Tax Teams. He was unanimously re-elected as Co-Chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus, where he leads a 50+ member group evenly split between Republicans and Democrats committed to governing through consensus. In addition, he co-chairs and serves on a diverse array of bipartisan caucuses focused on issues critical to his district and the nation, including:

  • The Congressional Ukraine Caucus
  • The Bipartisan Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Task Force
  • The Task Force for Combating Antisemitism
  • The House Cancer Caucus, ALS Caucus, and Fire Services Caucus
  • The PFAS Task Force, Pre-K and Child Care Caucus, and Disabilities Caucus
  • The Delaware River Watershed Caucus, NASA Space Exploration Caucus, and Animal Protection Caucus

Through these leadership roles, Fitzpatrick has built bipartisan coalitions on a wide range of policy priorities—from combatting the opioid epidemic and expanding cancer research, to advancing early childhood education, supporting veterans, strengthening environmental protections, and promoting innovation.

“The best policy is built through partnership. That’s how you drive progress—by bringing people together, not pushing them apart,” said Fitzpatrick.
